Being part of the “Green” industry, we have always done our best to be aware of our impact on the environment.  Whether we are installing new trees and shrubs, using new organic products, or simply by cutting back the use of our construction equipment, we do what we can to reduce any negative impacts we have in the environments that we are creating, installing, and maintaining.

Clean Energy partners with the “Green” industry when it comes to environmental issues.  We offer the installation of permeable surface patios, walkways, and driveways and other water retaining features like bio-gardens (also known as rain gardens).

Rain is natural, stormwater is not. Government studies have shown that up to 70% of the pollution in our streams, rivers and lakes is carried there by stormwater. Although most people never think about stormwater, some of the pollution that stormwater carries comes from their yards and gardens.  Improper lawn applications add to these problems.  That is one of the reasons why it is so important to hire a lawn care professional to apply lawn treatments on your property. 

The routine has been the same for years; get the water off of the properties as quickly as possible.  This method moves the stormwater off of properties, to the creeks and rivers, and eventually to the bay and ocean where it is no longer useable.  Having one of these bio-retention systems at your home may seem like a small solution to a large problem, but if you calculate the amount of rain that runs off your roof and paved surfaces, you would be very surprised. That rain is supposed to soak into the ground, but instead heads down the street to the storm drain, carrying pollution with it.  Keeping rain where it falls, by putting it back into the ground, is a natural solution. You have the added benefit of helping protect our rivers, streams and lakes from stormwater pollution. When one of these features is installed, the water is naturally filtered through layers of stone and sand, and is returned to our aquifers.  You can be part of the solution!
